Decision in-memory: SAP outlines its plan of attack

CERN sites in the Geneva area, are now equipped with HP E-series switches. They include six particle accelerators and the draft distributed computing grid for the LHC, the largest scientific grid computing service on the planet. The WLCG allows scientists to share, store and analyze 15 petabytes of data annually. To ensure the connectivity of servers on its sites in Switzerland, CERN has retained switches HP E6600, E5412 and E8212, as well as intelligent edge switches HP E3500.
The CERN campus network has over 50,000 terminals interconnected by more than 10,000 km of cable and fiber optics.
